The UC Davis Coffee House is a magical place.
Just ask these guys, or Iggy Pop, the Police, or the Ramones.
They have all performed there.

I worked at the Coffee House for two years in college.
I loved it.
My employee status afforded me many luxuries....
unlimited mochas, burritos in a bucket, extra guac.
But I owe the majority of my gratitude to the Co Ho for one thing....

The Bakery

It was a Tuesday.
I was a cashier.
Sang Nguyen was supposed to be working with me.
He didn't show.

Cameron did.
We talked the entire shift.
I thought he was cute.
(He thought I was cuter.)

I knew that day that I had made a great friend.

So while I love the Co Ho for giving me Lemon Cake
and introducing me to Fair Trade Coffee.
I love it even more for introducing me to my husband.

Best 10 Years of My Life

Rainy Day

I woke up this morning to find a dreary, rainy day.
Addy will now demonstrate how I was feeling.

I know rain is necessary to make things grow but it makes my hair frizzy.
However, despite the rain today has been awesome.
Here are a couple reasons why...

1.
I got a call 10 minutes after waking up from our dear friends the Littletons.
They live in Thailand and we don't get to talk much.
So great to hear from them this morning.

2.
I accidentally left my ipod on.
When I turned the speaker on magically Ani Difranco was on.
Are you serious?
One of my favorite singers ever.
Also, she reminds me of college and all of my beautiful roommates.
Viva Fountain Cirle #71 and Avalon # 49!

3.
Oh, and since it was raining...
I finally got to wear my awesome new rain boots.

The Holidays

We have finally recovered/returned from celebrating the Holidays and a week-long vacation with family and friends.Sorry for the long break from blogging. We were too busy just living life to blog about it. We visited with Cameron's Dad and Janie, Cameron's Mom and siblings, went snowshoeing with Addy's godparents, celebrated Christmas with my parents and extended family, celebrated the New Year, went to Napa for Cameron's 30th birthday, and spent another couple days with Cameron's Mom, Dylana, and Colin.

Hope your Holidays were as nice as ours.

30 is the new 20

I'm 30.
Have been for 4 days now.
Turns out 30 is kinda awesome.
Especially when your husband throws you a BIRTHDAY RAVE!

My wonderful husband surprised me with a trip to San Francisco.
I knew he had something planned for awhile, I just didn't know what.
All he would say was, "Get ready for the birthday rave."
So I gathered my candy bracelets, glow sticks, and adult sized pacifiers.
Alas, these things were not needed.
I got over it quickly.

After a very fun day together we met up with our friends, Brett and Erin, at Absinthe.
I'm a huge Top Chef fan. Jamie Lauren, of Season 5, is the Executive Chef.
I got the beef cheeks and they were very tasty.

Of course we couldn't eat at Absinthe without trying some.
Sadly, we saw no green fairies.

Who needs cake when you have olive oil ice cream?
So yummy!

Then it was on to Wicked.
I love musicals.
I loved Wicked!

Post show drinks at The Top of the Mark.
I always prefer a Sidecar.
Haven't had one before?
Hemingway drank them all the time.
That man knew his liquor, you should trust him.

Back at the hotel after a long, but very fun night.

After getting to sleep in, some coffee and scones, it was time to get ready to leave.

But first I felt the need to take this picture.
Not sure why...
I think I just wanted to show off my new jeans and our cool room.

And of course, Me and the Mr.
He is the best.

Thankful

It has been a couple of weeks since Thanksgiving.
I finally uploaded our pictures.
We hosted Cameron's parents and siblings.
We ran a race, baked, ate, cooked, drank, and played some Wii.
In short we had fun.
I am so thankful to have married into such a wonderful family.

We wanted to make our girls a special snack.
We made Popeye Snacks.
They are full of spinach,
but I don't think the girls figured that out.
I think the parmesan cheese and butter tricked them.

This weekend Addy and I traveled up to Modesto.

We swam.

We got some sun.

We built a train.

We played games.

We sat around and relaxed.

But most importantly we celebrated my Mom.
It was her birthday.
I won't tell you which birthday it was.
I will tell you that my Mom is awesome.

She is giving, smart, silly, creative, hard-working, and compassionate.

She is also loved.

For the past couple months we have been using cloth diapers.
I thought it would be hard, but it has been surprisingly easy.
Mostly because the diapers we use are so great.
Recently they got even better.
The company has released Biosoakers.
They are disposable inserts.
So when we aren't by a washer and dryer we have these to fall back on.
They are biodegradable, compostable, fragrance and dye free,
plastic free, and chlorine free.
In other words, they are the greenest disposable diapers around.

Time Tested Toy

My parents are both very sentimental.
It is one of their most endearing traits.
Their sentimentality, led them to hold on to one of my favorite toys from childhood.
Looks like Addy is a fan too.
We have only had it since Monday, but at least once a day she sits down at her table and plays.

My mom, Addy, and I visited the Modesto Farmers' Market and it did not disappoint.

I Saw What I Saw

A couple of months ago my friend shared this song on her blog.
I was deeply moved by it then and was reminded of it this evening.

Tonight at church I heard a sermon about Nehemiah. He lived hundreds of miles away from his people, in the lap of luxury, and when he heard the horrible news, he was crushed. It didn't matter where he was. His heart was still with his people. He suffered because they suffered.

Made me start thinking about who my people are. The obvious answer is my family and friends. But I know that is not it. My people are God's people, and that is everyone. We are all his. We are all connected.

I don't want to live my life in luxury, ignoring the hurt that I know is out there.

Me and Adds on Mother's Day!

Yesterday was Mother’s Day. Cameron was working a 7-5 shift so I spent the day with my parents in Modesto. Me and Adds returned to Fresno about 5 pm ready to meet up with Cameron. Unfortunately, he didn’t get home until 7:30. I put my little one to sleep and preceded to feel sorry for myself. Why couldn’t I celebrate Mother’s Day with my husband and daughter? Why was I alone? As I type this I’m feeling a bit melodramatic about the whole thing. But hey, that’s how I was feeling. When Cameron got home, Red Robin and flowers in hand, I felt extremely celebrated. But right before he left the hospital he called to tell me he was on his way home and that he was late because they were trying for over an hour to revive a 3 year old girl. Sadly, the little girl passed away. Right then reality set it. How could I be sitting around feeling sorry for myself? My heart hurts for the mother who lost her little girl yesterday and I pray that God would bring her comfort. I am truly blessed and have no right to sit around moping. I have gotten to be Addy’s mommy for almost a year now. I have a wonderful husband who not only takes care of us, but all of his patients.
God has given me so much and I am thankful.

In general I am a very organized person. But lately, I've had the itch to really organize. I mean really organize. While going through some boxes I found Reverend Mumford. After my sophomore year in college, I spent a summer in Cote d' Ivoire. I purchased the Rev. for Cameron before leaving Abidjan. Somehow in one of our recent moves the Rev. got packed away and gasp!...beheaded. But after some dusting and a little wood glue he is back in action!

Addy Meet Philly, Philly Meet Addy

I love Philadelphia. In my humble opinion, it is the best city in the US. I could seriously go on forever about what makes Philly great....cheesesteaks, Boat House Row, Clark Park, South Philly accents, Wissahickon Gorge, the Custard Stand, Rittenhouse Square, Chestnut Hill, small BYOB bistros...seriously, you don't want to get me started. But the best thing about Philly are our friends there. It was so good to introduce Addy to the people that made Philly our home for 4 years.

Melissa was our wonderful host.

We had a fantastic dinner with Robin, Denise, and Gianna.

Mr. Mike took us by our old Co-Op for some yummy chicken salad.

My old bosses at Dignity Housing, Mrs. Roberts and Ms. Christian.

Our travel partners (to Morocco and hopefully Malaysia), pastors, and friends...
B-Rad and the Becster.

Seth and Sarah Dorrell joined us in taking down a slab and half of ribs from Rib Crib.

The Please Touch Museum has a play area in the Philly airport. I always admired it during my many experiences at the airport. Never imagined I would get to play in it with my little girl. Addy loved it.

11 Months!

Yep, Addy is 11 months already.
This month I thought I would take her "monthly shoot" outside.
I thought it would be sweet to give her a flower to hold.
Didn't work out quite as I had planned...

Addy Meet Boston, Boston Meet Addy

As you can tell from the above picture, Addy was not the biggest fan of planes, note pout. But all in all she did well. She charmed everyone on our flight, waving and smiling to everyone in sight. She just didn't like being confined to her seat.

Cameron took advantage of this opportunity at Oyster House (America's oldest restaurant) to educate Addy on his extreme dislike for fame-hungry Paul Revere.
In the Jones house we are partial to William Dawes, the lesser known but equally important "The British are Coming" announcer.

Ah, the Red Sox.
I don't even really like baseball but I like the Red Sox.
May have something to do with Sam Adams Summer Ale on tap, Neil Diamond Sing-a-longs, and great swag.

Special thanks to Brett, Erin, and Em for making our visit so much fun!
Can't wait till you are back on the West Coast.

Cheese and Waterfalls

Last Tuesday, Team Jones had a completely awesome day. We put our Federal Park Annual Pass to good use, and visited Yosemite National Park. It was an absolutely beautiful day! The snow has been melting so the waterfalls were booming! We hiked the Lower Falls, lunched at the Ahwahnee Hotel (serious fruit and cheese action), and finished up with a trek around Mirror Lake.

There are about a hundred reasons I think California is superior to all other states. But seriously, how nice is it to live in a place where it is warm enough in March to go swimming! This weekend we took off to Modesto for the day and spent some time floating in my parents pool. It was sooooooo nice!

10 Months!!!

Our little lady is 10 months old today. Every month on the 23rd I try to take a bunch of pictures of Addy. This month proved to be very challenging. Every time I tried to take a picture she would crawl right up to me and try to grab the camera. I ended up getting one good shot. But so you could see her in action I posted some videos too. Two days ago, our godson, Samuel Justice Littleton, turned 2. Yeah Sam! We haven't seen him since we and the Zinns visited his family in Morocco in April 2007. Thanks to the blogging skills of his mother and the occasional Skype call we have gotten to watch him grow over the last two years. I feel so thankful that we were able to visit Morocco, see Fez, Volubilis, and Chefchaouen. But I am mostly thankful for the time we got to spend with Sammers.

The countdown is on until we get to see him again....I think we are at about 70 days.

I was feeling the need to liven up the house a bit. I had been going with a muted earth tone scheme in the living room, and it was starting to depress me. So I said goodbye to blah and hello to color. Here are some of the items around my house that are making me smile...
I found these pillows in the clearance section at Pottery Barn. They are whimsical and lovely.

I got this Le Creuset teapot with a gift card at Williams-Sonoma. Not only is it cute but it whistles too! Makes teatime even better!

When my parents travel they often buy things for their home as souvenirs. I'm not talking about shot glasses and snow globes. They get totally awesome useful things. On a recent trip to Europe they purchased beautiful art prints and bedding. I think this is such a great idea. So when we went to Morocco to visit the Littletons, I wanted to get some items for our home. I found these baskets and instanly fell in love. I know they aren't colorful but they hold very colorful fruits and veggies.

I've had these place mats for two years. So glad to finally be using them. I don't know what my problem was....
My two biggest reasons to smile. Better than pillows, tea pots, baskets, or place mats. Better than anything and everything.

Addy turned 9 months old this week. Hard to believe she is 3/4 of the way through her first year. Currently, Addy is really into standing. Anytime she is not eating or sleeping she is standing. Except for when she is crawling after electrical cords.

Addy discovered a very special rocking horse yesterday. My grandpa made this rocking horse for me when I was a little girl. I feel so lucky to still have it so my daughter can enjoy it (thanks mom and dad). Sadly, my grandpa passed away last week. He was an incredible man who we will all miss. He definitely would have laughed when he saw this picture.

We had a seriously good time celebrating Christmas with our family units. I start getting all warm and fuzzy just thinking about it. I especially love Holiday traditions. This year we introduced two new traditions to the Stafford bunch...monkey bread and Christmas pickle. Both were a hit. Addy is modeling a tradition that both the Staffords and Jones' participate in. Christmas crackers. You know, those foil rolls that you break in half. They almost always contain a totally lame toy, bad joke, and a crown. Addy looked awesome in her crown and enjoyed getting in touch with her WASPy roots.

The Holidays are over and I'm feeling a little sad today. We had a great time with our families at Christmas, rest and relaxed in Fresno, and celebrated Cameron's birthday and New years with our friends. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed by posting so many pics at one time so I will be doing this in installments.

One of the highlights of the last couple weeks was meeting Erin and Brett Arnold's new baby girl, Emelyne. She is totally adorable.

Directors Cut

So Cameron took his first stab at home video's. Here is the result.

Last January, we went up to Yosemite to snowshoe. It was great fun. It was a 2 miles hike uphill to get to the sequoia grove, and by the time we got up there, everyone else had left. Pretty sweet. One of the most visited spots in California, with trees thousands of years old, and we had it all to ourself. Enjoy the video.

During a recent visit with some friends, Addy decided to take matters into her own hands...

We decided that she looks super cute in "cold weather" clothes, and that it is decidedly to hot for beanies in Fresno.

Also, she has apparently started grabbing for things that are interesting and putting them into her mouth. This includes my lower lip, as it is quite large. This only turns out to be a bad thing when we haven't cut her nails in a while...

A man of his word

6 Years ago a friend of mine (We'll call him Matt) and I made a bet. We had both just gotten married, so the bet was whoever had a kid first lost, and had to buy the other man a months worth of diapers. Well, after 6 years it came down to 8 days, with Addy edging out Hannah (way to go girl, your first win for Dad!) Hannah made a good run, but was always the underdog. Always an upstanding guy (again, to protect his privacy, we will call him Matt), a few weeks later these diapers show up at our house. So here's to you Matt, we will poop on them with joy.

Hawaii

We were lucky enough to be taken to Kona with Jen's family. We stayed in a beautiful home right on the beach. We had a great time visiting with family, golfing, snorkeling, sunning, swimming, shopping, and playing games. We even got some great family pics taken.

Here is Addy with her cousins, Lindsay and Evan the night before we flew out in San Francisco. Addy got to wear a hoody for the first time. I think she was thankful to be out of the Fresno heat for once.

We survived flying with an infant. Honestly, she did really well on the flight there and was only a little grouchy on the flight home. Addy definetely had more leg room than even the first class passengers.

Ah, finally a picture in Hawaii. We traveled to a beach down the road from our place that was full of turtles sunning themselves. It was incredible. We also got to see a gigantic mantaray.

This is just a sweet picture of Addy and Cameron.

Addy loved sunning herself. She was a little upset about the t-shirt tan lines though. She asked me to pack a bikini for her next time. (Before you call CPS, please know that we are only joking.)

Home Sweet Home

Wow, we survivied two weeks away from home with a newborn. We spent about 10 days with the Stafford clan in Modesto, San Francisco, and Hawaii. Then we traveled to Santa Ynez for Holly and Ryan's wedding. We had a great time on both trips and Addy is proving to be quite a traveler.

Oh, and Addy smiles like crazy now!

So we have a history of being really bad at posting. But for like two weeks we were exceptional bloggers. However, we quickly returned to our bad habit of infrequent posting. At least we have a good excuse this time. Cameron went back to work and we had lots of visitors. We really enjoyed everyone who came and stayed with us. Here are some pics of Addy's many visitors.

So yesterday was our first trip to the Pediatrician. Let me tell you, she likes Dr. Dad a whole lot more. Quick play by play:

"Did someone say 'shot'?" Yup. Not much better than having to strip down to your skivies, have a stranger push and prod all over your body, then get a needle in the thigh.
Mom did a great job calming her down between harassment's. Last night she slept for 9 hours straight (exaggeration) cause she was so pooped.
Not all bad. In response to all the mistreatment, Addy did what any self respecting little baby would do if they were pissed at someone...poop all over them. She dropped a present on the scale AND the table. "Take THAT suckas!!"

Well, 41 weeks and 1 day later, we are finally parents. Tough to put the experience in words. I guess it is just something that you will have to do for yourself someday. Everything went smooth, and we had a great birth experience. Jen proves once again (see post about marathon) that she is way more hardcore then Cameron. Hopefully the little one will take after her. Enought with the talk, on to the pictures!! (Realizing that probably everyone skipped ahead and looked at the pictures first anyways...)

Here we are at 7 am about to leave for the hospital. Labor had started at 4am, but Cameron had to sleep for a few more hours...

Fast forward 9 hours and here she is!!! Adeline Rose Jones, born at 4:20pm on May 23, 2008. She was 8 Lbs 8 Oz and 21.5 inches long.

Jen only had to push for 10 minutes...but it still wasn't a walk in the park. Addy opened her eyes right away. We we able to hold her for over an hour after the delivery before they weighed and bathed her. Good times.

On her way home, 24 hours after birth. Pink bows for beautiful babies. She went a little Wolverine on her face, but it comes with the territory.

Here we are hopping into The Fast Guy (thats the name of our new car). Jen is looking great only one day after losing 20 lbs!!!!

And the Star has arrived. So many cameras, it was like the paparazzi (I had to ask Jen how to spell that). Addy is a Superstar!

She has an amazingly high pitched scream when she wants to. Echos through the whole house. Pretty crazy, but mostly she just makes noises that sould like the raptors from Jurrasic Park.

Obviously she is enjoying her first sponge bath. When she was born, her hair was blond, but turned a bit darker over the next 48 hours. Then after we bathed her it was blond again...is that why I bathe?

But in the end, she enjoyed being clean...

She has decided that she doesn't like her crib and would rather sleep in a big girl bed... meaning ours. So Jen has to sleep in the Pack and Play now...

I realize now that we don't have a whole lot of "Family Shots". So here is one right after the delivery...many more to come...

It is not a well kept secret that I have a problem with punctuality. I normally run a good 10 minutes late. It seems that our daughter is victim to the same affliction. Her due date was the 15th and so far she has decided that she will continue to make us wait. Here is a pic of me at 40 weeks and 1 day.

The baby and I have been super spoiled. We were given three showers...one from my co-workers, one from Cameron's co-workers, and one back home in Modesto. Alright, the competition didn't turn out so well. Neither Cameron or I suceeded in our posting challenge. I want to promise to be better and to tell you all that there will be regular posts but I'm just not sure if that is true. All I can say is that I will try...

Alright it is almost the end of September and neither Cameron or I are close to our 8 post goal for the month. But I have about 6 more days and I think I can win this one. In general, I am not very competitive. Well, I take that back, I actually am pretty competitive. I guess I often think that I am not competitive because I am completely horrible at sports. Anything that requires me to hit or catch makes me anxious. If you toss something at me there is a 95.9% chance that I won't catch it. I credit my extreme hatred of ultimate Frisbee to this statistic. (Sorry Littletons, this would also explain my disdain for Frisbee golfing.) And just so you know, my bating average in softball was .000. Yep, I played for two seasons and never hit the ball. So as you can tell, I have kept myself away from the athletic department in an attempt to salvage my pride. But blogging is something I will not back down from. I will win this competition.

I'll admit it is a bit hard for me to be so determined to defeat such a wonderful man (see above picture). Also, I should share that Cameron's been working 80-90 hours a week and hasn't had a day off for almost a month. So maybe I'm picking on the underdog, but no one said winning was easy. Game on!

Just in case you didn't know, I now have a job. Actually, I have been working for the Network for Healthy California for the last three weeks. I work with the Power Play! Campaign. The campaign utilizes a school based curriculum to encourage 4th and 5th graders to eat 3 1/2 -5 servings of fruit and vegetables a day and to get 60 minutes of Power Play (exercise). I'm still kind of figuring out what exactly my job entails and recently have been attending lots of trainings. But one cool thing I get to do is go to community events and harass people about nutrition. Here is a picture of me heckling some poor kid.

So, in my infinant wisdom, in order to increase the number of blogs on our blog, I chose to make a deal with the wifey. The deal was, 2 blogs each a week for a month, or the other person gets a prize. J.R.'s prize of course would be a shopping spree, and mine a new video game.

Well, here we are at the end of week 1, and she already has 2 posts (although I am calling for an outside litigators opinion on whether or not posting our new address actually counts as a blog. I don't think so.) I have no posts, but in 20 seconds I will have one. So, all the to say hopefully there will be some quality updates on the lives of the Jones' in the next few weeks. My best friends, Holly and Erin, came to town last week to visit me and Cameron and the Bachmans. Erin was visiting from Boston and Holly just returned from Indonesia. It was so great to see them both. I can not begin to describe my shock and shame in admitting that we spent a whole night playing videogames. And guess what...I one!

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- A San Francisco company said Friday it plans to build the world's largest solar power farm near Fresno, California.
The 80-megawatt farm is to occupy as much as 640 acres and upon completion in 2011 will be 17 times the size of the largest U.S. solar farm, said Cleantech America LLC, a privately held 2-year-old company.
The farm will also be about seven times the size of the world's biggest plant and double the largest planned farm, both in Germany.
Bill Barnes, CEO of Cleantech, said the scale of the Kings River Conservation District Community Choice Solar Farm will change renewable energy and make California the global leader for huge solar projects and replace Germany as the solar energy hub of the world.
"We're pretty confident that solar farms on this scale are going to have an industry-changing impact," Barnes said by telephone on Friday. "We think it's the wave of the future. This scale of project, I think, creates a tipping point for renewable energy."
Barnes declined to give the estimated construction cost of the Community Choice farm.
"We think the impact for it will be similar to the impact of the computer chip," which gained computing power once made on a large scale, Barnes said.
"So too will economies of scale like the Community Choice farm drive down the cost of solar," Barnes said.
Cleantech has announced two solar farms so far, and the future projects it will announce are, as of now, to be in California and also in the range of the 80-megawatt farm near Fresno, Barnes said.

Our 1 Month Anniversiarry

The Jones' and Fresno just celebrated one month together. So far so good. We have really enjoyed spending time with family, visiting friends, and exploring our new hometown. If you want to reach us our email addresses and phone numbers are the same as they were in Philly.

Our very first week back in California we took off to Yosemite National Park (just a short drive form our home) for some hiking. We decided to do the Nevada Falls hike past Vernal Falls. The hike was challenging but very fun. We got to hike along a waterfall, defend our lunch from rabid squirrels, and pretend to be naturalists (in honor of John Muir - If you don't know who John Muir is you should check him out on Wikipedia- He's awesome).

Here we are at the top of Nevada Falls. We could of kept going from here to climb Half Dome but we're going to save that for next time.

Seriously, can you even believe this picture. This look out point is called Tunnel View because you drive through this long tunnel and then Bam! you get hit with this view. It is so beautiful.

FYI-we bought an annual pass to the park. So if anyone is planning a visit to California we would be happy to take you to one of our favorite places.

Fashionably Late

We have developed quite a reputation for being late. We have good intentions, but we always show up about 10 minutes later than we were supposed to. So why the confession...well this blog is late too. You see we were planning on starting this in January so we could talk about all of the fun things we did in 2006 and keep you updated. But now it is February and it feels a bit strange to still be reminiscing about 2006. But we are going to anyways.

Attending the IJM Prayer Retreat with Best Friends Holly and Erin

IJM is a great human rights organization. Spending the week learning and praying for the organization with friends was a wonderful experience. Here is a picture of Jen, Holly, and Erin and Abraham Lincoln...you can barely seem him in the background.

Staffords In Philly

Jen's parents came out for a visit. We did all of the historical Philly things....Liberty Bell, Constitution Center, and Independence Hall. We also went for a really nice walk in Wissahickon Gorge. We really appreciated them coming out to visit us. If Jen's parents ever send us the pictures from this trip we will post them here.

Visiting Pasadena and Meeting Jackson Bachman

Brett, Erin, and Holly were all attending graduate school at Fuller. Jeff, Shara, and Jackson came down to visit. We had a good time eating frozen yogurt, shopping, going to the zoo, and hanging out by the pool. Jen had a wonderful time visiting. (Cameron was attending an Emergency Medicine Conference at the time.)

Relaxing in San Diego with the Staffords

Mom and Dad Stafford treated us all to a week's stay in a beautiful house right on the beach. The week was full of golf, spa treatments, tanning, swimming, sand, smiles, and sunshine.

It was so much fun to get to hang out with everybody for a whole week. (We normally just get a couple days at a time.)

We had to include some extra pictures of our niece Lindsay and our nephew Evan.

60 Mile Ride to the end of the earth.

Yes, that's right. We found the end of the earth. It's 64 miles east of Philly at a place called Atlantic city. Let me be the first to say that riding a bike 64 miles isn't easy, but try and do it in the pouring rain through mud and flood. It was a bit tiring, but totally worth it. Along with members of our church, we raised over a thousand $$ for Project Home. Although it was over 6 months ago, i still have soar parts.... (Cameron)

1st Annual VCC West Philly Basketball Tournament

Cameron and our friend Seth Dorrell organized a basketball tournament for local kids in West Philly. We don't have any pictures from the event but it certainly was a memorable experience.

Half-Wit Half Marathon Trail Run

Jen and her friends, Sarah Dorrell and Elissa Drummond, ran 13 miles through the woods. We all quickly learned why it's named the "Half-Wit." The course took runners through streams, over fallen trees, up multiple steep climbs and along rocky paths. Jen experienced extreme dehydration but was still able to put down a couple tacos at the end. In all it was a fun experience but one that need never be repeated.

UCSF Fresno

Cameron spent a month rotating at the UCSF Fresno Emergency Medicine Program. Not only did he get to gain some great experience but he also got to live with his best friend Andrew, visit with family, hang out with the Bachmans, and eat lots of sushi. Jen came out to visit for Labor Day Weekend and begin to ponder if she could withstand a Fresno existence (that's what she is thinking about while feeding the ducks at Woodward Park). Holly and Ryan came up from Pasadena to visit too.

26.2 Miles

Jen completed a year long goal of running a marathon. She and her training partner, Sarah Dorrell, ran the Marine Corps Marathon. Cameron and Sarah's husband, Seth, were excellent fans and showed up every couple miles to show their support.

Christmas 2006

As always we had a wonderful time visiting with family over the Holidays. It was nice to be home in California spending quality time with all of the people we miss so much. Here is a picture of some of those people: Bryan, Lori, Lindsay, and Evan.

Tahoe with the Jones/Yano Gang

Cameron's Mom treated us to a week in North Lake Tahoe. We snowboarded/skied, played games, and watched movies. We had a great time!

We got together with a bunch of friends from Davis to celebrate the New Year and Cameron's Birthday in Monterey.
